Your Privacy Matters

Neue Alchemy's mission is to help organizations and professionals navigate what's next, through advisory, innovation builds, and career development tools. Central to that mission is our commitment to be transparent about the data we collect, how it is used, and with whom it is shared.

This Privacy Policy applies when you use any of our Services, including:

  • neuealchemy.io: Our firm website
  • Signal + Noise: Our intelligence briefing and newsletter platform
  • Monarch: Our AI-powered career platform and Alchemist Network
  • Related sites, applications, and services operated by Neue Alchemy

We refer to all of these collectively as our "Services." By using our Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

Summary of Key Commitments

  • Your data is yours. Data you store in our products is yours; we protect it and use it only as described in this Privacy Policy.
  • We do not sell your personal data. Not to advertisers, not to employers, not to data brokers.
  • We do not share your data across users. Your account data is never visible to other users unless you explicitly choose to share it.
  • We do not train AI models on your personal data. We may use aggregated or de-identified usage data to improve our own systems, but we do not use your identifiable personal data to train AI. Our third-party AI providers process your data only to deliver features, not to train their foundation models under our enterprise agreements.
  • We use data to improve our Services. We analyze aggregated usage patterns to make our platform better for everyone.
  • Interview audio is transcribed and deleted. Voice recordings are processed through third-party transcription services, then deleted. Transcripts and scores are retained in your account.
  • We use publicly available information. We collect and analyze publicly available job postings, news, and professional information to power platform features and improve our Services.

1. Data We Collect

1.1 Data You Provide

Account Registration. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you purchase a paid subscription, we collect payment and billing information through our payment processor (Stripe).

Career Profile. If you use Monarch or the Alchemist Network, you may provide career-related information including your resume, work history, skills, education, job preferences, and professional goals. You choose what to provide; a more complete profile enables better AI-powered career tools, but you are never required to share more than the basics.

Content You Create. When you use our content generation features (resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn posts, cold emails, interview practice), we store the content you generate so you can access, edit, and reuse it.

Interview Practice. If you use voice-based interview practice, we collect audio recordings for the purpose of transcription and evaluation. Audio is processed through third-party transcription services (such as OpenAI Whisper), then deleted. The resulting transcript and performance scores are retained in your account.

Job Information. You may save job postings, track applications, or paste job descriptions into our tools. This information is stored in your account to power features like resume tailoring and skill matching.

Contact Information You Enter. You may manually enter information about professional contacts (such as hiring managers, references, or networking connections) into your account. This information is stored for your personal use within the career platform and is not visible to other users or customers.

Communications. When you contact us via email or through our Services, we collect the content of those communications.

1.2 Data We Collect Automatically

Usage Data. We collect information about how you interact with our Services, including pages visited, features used, search queries, and time spent. We use this to improve our Services and understand how our tools are being used.

Device Information. We collect standard technical information including your IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.

Cookies and Similar Technologies. We use cookies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and understand usage patterns. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising. See our Cookie Policy for details.

1.3 Data From Third-Party Sources

Public Job Postings. We collect publicly available job postings from job boards, company career pages, and public APIs (such as LinkedIn Jobs, Indeed, and company applicant tracking systems). This data is used both to power the job discovery features in our career platform and to inform our firm's understanding of market trends and hiring patterns.

Public Professional Information. We may collect publicly available professional information (such as names, titles, and company affiliations) from public sources including job postings, company websites, press releases, and professional networks. This information is used for our firm's business development and is not shared with platform users.

Signal + Noise Content Sources. Our intelligence briefings are produced from publicly available news, research, and industry reporting. Sources are attributed in our published content.

1.4 Data Processed by Third-Party AI Services

Our Services use third-party AI models (including OpenAI and Google) to power features such as resume generation, interview evaluation, content creation, and intelligent routing. When you use these features:

  • Your input (such as a job description or interview response) is sent to the relevant AI provider for processing.
  • We select AI providers that do not use customer input data to train their foundation models. These providers may process de-identified or aggregated data to maintain and improve their services, consistent with their published privacy terms.
  • We cannot guarantee the data handling practices of third-party providers beyond our contractual agreements with them. We encourage you to review their privacy policies: OpenAI, Google.

2. How We Use Your Data

2.1 To Provide Our Services

We use your data to deliver the features you've requested, including career profile management, resume generation, interview practice, content creation, job discovery, application tracking, and access to Signal + Noise briefings.

2.2 To Personalize Your Experience

If you use Monarch or the Alchemist Network, we use your career profile to personalize AI-generated content, job recommendations, skill matching, and coaching. Your profile information enables our AI copilot to provide contextually relevant guidance rather than generic responses.

2.3 To Develop and Improve Our Services

We use data, including aggregated usage patterns, to conduct research and development for our Services in order to provide you and others with a better, more personalized experience. We analyze aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns to improve our platform's performance and quality. Information you provide about companies, roles, and professional contacts helps us improve our understanding of organizations and professional relationships so we can provide better suggestions and product features. Where we use this information for research and development, we do so in aggregated or de-identified form and do not expose your specific contacts, notes, or workspace data to other users. We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your data across customers or users of our platform.

2.4 To Communicate With You

We use your contact information to send service-related communications (account verification, password resets, security notices, subscription updates). If you subscribe to Signal + Noise, we send briefings according to your delivery preferences. You can change your communication preferences at any time.

2.5 For Security and Fraud Prevention

We use data to protect the security of our Services, detect and prevent fraud, and enforce our terms.

3. How We Share Information

3.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. Period.

3.2 We Do Not Share Across Users

Your career profile, resumes, interview data, application history, and generated content are never visible to other users of our platform. Each user's data is isolated and access-controlled.

3.3 Third-Party Service Providers

We use service providers to help operate our Services. These include:

  • AI Model Providers (OpenAI, Google): content generation, transcription, and analysis
  • Supabase: database hosting and authentication
  • Stripe: payment processing
  • Resend: transactional email delivery
  • Vercel: application hosting

These providers access your data only as necessary to perform their services and are contractually obligated not to use it for other purposes.

3.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your data if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Neue Alchemy, our users, or others.

3.5 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4. Your Choices and Rights

4.1 Access and Export

You can access your data at any time through your account. You may request a copy of your personal data in a portable format by contacting us.

4.2 Correction

You can update or correct your account information and career profile at any time through your account settings.

4.3 Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. Upon deletion:

  • Your account information, career profile, and generated content will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
  • Aggregated, non-identifying data derived from your usage may be retained (e.g., aggregate system performance metrics).
  • Data required for legal compliance may be retained as required by law.

4.4 Communication Preferences

You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time through your account settings or by using the unsubscribe link in any email. You cannot opt out of essential service communications (security notices, billing, legal updates).

4.5 Interview Audio

Voice recordings from interview practice are automatically deleted after transcription. If you wish to have your transcripts and scores deleted, you can do so through your account or by contacting us.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
  • Row-level security policies ensuring users can only access their own data
  • Role-based access controls for internal team members
  • Regular security reviews

No system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you Services. If you close your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal compliance, dispute resolution, or fraud prevention.

Usage data and aggregate analytics may be retained in non-identifying form indefinitely.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not intended for individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 16, we will delete it promptly.

8. International Data Transfers

Our Services are hosted in the United States. If you are accessing our Services from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using our Services, you consent to this transfer.

9. AI-Specific Disclosures

Our Services use artificial intelligence to power features such as content generation, transcription, evaluation, and personalized recommendations.

How AI is used: We use third-party AI services to process your input and generate outputs such as resume drafts, interview feedback, and written content. AI-generated content is provided as a starting point for your review, not as a finished product. We recommend reviewing all AI-generated content before use.

Your data and AI: Your data is processed by AI services to deliver features you've requested. We select AI providers whose business terms prohibit using customer input to train their foundation models. We do not use your personal data to train our own AI models.

AI limitations: AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies. Our Services do not make hiring decisions, automatically contact third parties on your behalf, or profile you for advertising purposes.

10. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including:

  • The right to know what personal data we collect and how we use it
  • The right to request deletion of your personal data
  • The right to opt out of the sale of your personal data (we do not sell personal data)
  • The right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through our Services or by email before the changes take effect. Your continued use of our Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
