Deliveroo's first robot deliveries will hit the UK this month
THE SO WHAT
Robot delivery is moving from novelty to live urban testbed—Deliveroo is explicitly tying it to accessibility benefits for blind and partially sighted pedestrians. If you operate in last-mile or retail, start mapping where robots can augment human couriers without triggering local backlash or regulatory friction.

Robotics & AutonomyRobCo hits unicorn valuation in employee share sale
Secondary liquidity at a unicorn price for a robotics company is a signal that industrial buyers and later-stage capital now see factory automation as a durable, non-hype category. If you’re selling into manufacturing, assume robots are moving from pilot to line item and adjust your integration and service posture accordingly.
Ukraine's robotic gun turrets have scored their first kills of Russia's fastest attack drones
AI-enabled defensive turrets engaging high-speed drones in Ukraine show how quickly autonomy is moving from lab demos to lethal infrastructure. For any company working on sensing, targeting, or control, dual-use and export-risk questions are no longer theoretical—they’re board-level issues.
American investors are touring China’s robot factories to size up the competition
US investors walking Chinese robot factories is a recognition that the real benchmark for ‘AI + robotics’ is already on production lines in Shenzhen and Suzhou. If you’re building in the West, assume your customers are quietly comparing your roadmap to what they’ve seen running at scale in China.
Robotics & AutonomyMusk says Tesla’s robotaxis still cannot reliably see pets at night
If Tesla still struggles with 'grey kittens on grey tarmac,' full driver-out robotaxis remain bounded by long-tail perception, not just regulation. Operators betting on AV-only logistics or mobility should model a longer mixed-human autonomy period and design services that tolerate these edge-case failures.
