Applied AINvidia debuts Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe, an open-weight model for multilingual audio transcription and translation, and Granary v2, its open-source speech dataset
High-quality, open-weight multilingual transcription plus an open dataset compresses the moat around proprietary speech stacks. If you’re paying per-minute for transcription at scale, it’s time to cost out a Nemotron-based path and ask vendors how they’ll justify their margin once customers can self-host.
Applied AISocial media is full of weird video game mashups. Where are they all coming from?
AI-powered modding and remix tools are turning games into endlessly recombinable IP, which collides directly with existing copyright and monetization models. Publishers need a clear stance—either harness this energy with sanctioned tools and revenue shares or prepare for a messy enforcement cycle that alienates your most engaged users.
Applied AIVoice AI in vogue: Nvidia releases new open transcription model
An open, 40-language transcription model that excels on recordings but not live audio splits the market—offline meeting, call, and medical transcription can move off proprietary APIs, while real-time remains a premium surface. If you run async-heavy workflows, you now have leverage to renegotiate or in-house a big chunk of your speech stack.
Applied AIMusk’s AI Odyssey arrives as a seven-minute episode, and critics pan it
A hyped AI-generated film landing as a seven-minute episode with poor reviews is a reminder that content volume isn’t the bottleneck—story, pacing, and taste still are. Studios and brands experimenting with AI video should treat it as a production accelerant, not a substitute for creative direction or audience testing.
