Our favorite new drones: these are the models that soared through our tests
THE SO WHAT
Consumer drones getting 5-star reviews at multiple price points means aerial capture is now a cheap, reliable input — not a specialty tool. Construction, ag, and inspection operators should assume teams can self-deploy drones and focus on workflows for ingesting and acting on the data.

Robotics & AutonomyThis half-priced Sunseeker X3 Plus robot lawn mower is selling out at Amazon
A robot mower hitting a sub-$900 price point and selling through quickly is another proof that outdoor autonomy is moving from luxury to mainstream appliance. If you build or service home or light-commercial equipment, assume customers will expect autonomy as a default feature within the next product cycle.
Tesla's robotaxis face new regulator scrutiny over school zone-speeding claim
Regulators probing school-zone behavior in robotaxis shows safety expectations are now context-specific, not just aggregate crash stats. AV operators should harden geo- and time-aware safety policies — school zones, work zones, emergency scenes — and be ready to expose that logic to regulators.
Robotics & AutonomyWerner backs autonomous trucks, but economic and liability hurdles remain
A major carrier brokering freight to multiple AV developers while flagging insurance as the gating factor says the tech pilot phase is ahead of the risk and economics stack. If you run logistics, treat AV as a portfolio bet with clear liability assumptions — not a near-term way to rewrite your cost base.
Robotics & AutonomyWhen one robot learns, every robot knows if they can communicate
The constraint on fleet learning is shifting from algorithms to connectivity and data plumbing. If you’re rolling out robots across sites, treat networking, data schemas, and update orchestration as core autonomy infrastructure, not IT afterthoughts.
