The new Anker Solix S5000 is ready to power your home during the next outage — preorder with huge discount
THE SO WHAT
A 5 kWh home backup unit launching at a $2,499.99 promo price anchors consumer expectations for residential resilience hardware. If you’re in home energy or smart home, plan around a world where mid-range households can realistically buy multi-day backup as a product, not a project.

Deep & Emerging TechAnker’s Latest Portable Home Backup Battery Won’t Suck Itself Dry So Fast
A 5 kWh-class home backup battery that only draws 8.8W at idle shows how storage vendors are optimizing for always-on resilience, not just peak output. If you’re designing for home or micro-site uptime, idle efficiency now matters as much as capacity on the spec sheet.
Deep & Emerging TechMusk’s SpaceX Acquiring Crucial Swath of Spectrum
SpaceX buying spectrum that lets Starlink reach indoors and pair with a terrestrial network pushes it closer to being a full-stack telco, not just a satellite ISP. If you operate in connectivity or mobile, start modeling scenarios where Starlink is a direct competitor or wholesale backbone.
Deep & Emerging TechDebts disrupt trucking companies in Oregon, Texas
Bankruptcies at regional carriers in Oregon and Texas highlight how thin margins and debt loads are in trucking. Shippers and logistics tech vendors should stress-test their exposure to small carrier failures and consider how automation or consolidation might reshape capacity.
Deep & Emerging TechIonQ Demonstrates 1,000 Entanglement Events per Second in Quantum Interconnect
Crossing 1,000 entanglement events per second between trapped-ion qubits and solid-state memory is a systems milestone—higher-rate, reliable interconnects are what make modular quantum architectures plausible. For teams with quantum on the 5–10 year horizon, this is another data point that networking and control stacks deserve as much attention as qubit counts in your roadmap assumptions.
