This silent all-flash NAS with 10GbE and dual USB4 is cheaper if you buy it bare-bone and add your own SSDs
THE SO WHAT
Fanless, local-AI-capable NAS with 10GbE and USB4 at bare-bones pricing is another nudge toward owning more of your inference and data stack. For teams with privacy or latency constraints, it’s time to re-run the math on a small on-prem tier alongside cloud.

Deep & Emerging Tech'How do you know what's real?': US utilities are making AI data centers prove they exist before handing over power connections — as 50% of planned buildouts are currently being delayed, stalled, or canceled
Half of planned AI data center buildouts being delayed or canceled because utilities doubt the customers are real means power is now a due-diligence problem, not just an engineering one. If you’re planning large-scale AI infra, lock in credibility with utilities early—contracts, financing, and visible progress—before you assume timelines are real.
Deep & Emerging TechNextdc Cuts Outlook as Backlash Delays Data Center Power
Community opposition delaying power to a major Melbourne data center—and forcing Nextdc to consider force majeure—shows that grid access is now a political as much as an engineering problem. If your AI or cloud roadmap assumes new capacity, you need a view on local sentiment and permitting timelines, not just megawatts on a slide.
Deep & Emerging TechMusk Says ASML and Others Are Expediting Chipmaking Gear for Terafab
If ASML and other tool vendors are expediting gear for Terafab, chipmaking is tilting further toward vertically integrated, captive capacity. Any AI-heavy operator should assume future competition for foundry slots intensifies—secure multi-year supply conversations now, even if you’re “just” a buyer of accelerators.
Deep & Emerging TechA nightmare scenario for supermarkets: Hidden daily passwords and command injection flaws leave thousands of Danfoss supermarket systems open to remote takeover
Thousands of exposed Danfoss refrigeration systems with hidden daily passwords and command injection flaws is OT security failure, not an edge case. If you operate physical sites, treat every vendor-managed control system like an internet-facing app—inventory, segment, and pen-test it this quarter.
