Why China Wants to Master the Robotic Hand
THE SO WHAT
China’s focus on dexterous humanoid hands is about upgrading its manufacturing base as its workforce shrinks—not sci-fi. If you operate factories or supply chains touching China, assume more tasks will be automatable on shorter timelines and plan for both competitive pressure and partnership options.

Robotics & AutonomyFeds Eye Probe Into Reports of Tesla Robotaxis Zooming Through School Zones
Autonomy is running into the most politically sensitive edge cases—school zones, kids, speed limits—which is exactly where regulators will draw hard lines. If you deploy AVs or advanced ADAS, treat geo-fenced policy compliance and transparent incident telemetry as core product work, not a post-launch patch.
Robotics & AutonomyChina's Robotic Hands Key to $5 Trillion AI Humanoid Development Race
An estimated $5T humanoid race with China holding early hardware advantages means manipulation and end-effector tech could become a strategic chokepoint like lithography in chips. Industrial operators should start mapping which line tasks depend on fine manipulation and which vendors—domestic or foreign—can credibly serve them.
Robotics & AutonomyUnitree CEO says GPT-7 might ‘directly crack’ the problems of robotic AI
Treat claims that a next-gen LLM will “crack” robotics as roadmap, not reality—embodied intelligence still runs into latency, safety, and sim-to-real walls. If you’re betting on humanoids, build your stack so you can swap models and fuse classical control with LLM reasoning rather than waiting for a single-model miracle.
Robotics & AutonomySources: self-driving simulation software maker Applied Intuition has received investment offers that would value it at $30B+, up from $15B in June
A jump from $15B to $30B+ valuation in a few months for Applied Intuition says investors now see autonomy simulation and tooling as core AI infrastructure, not niche AV software. If you’re building in autonomy or robotics, expect pricing power and tighter vendor leverage from this layer of the stack.
