This is a first-party statement with a specific cutoff date, the kind of clarity that forces downstream planning across product, procurement, and customer commitments.

The Bet: Frontier model providers can manage risk by tightening access at the account and corporate-control layer, even when the immediate revenue impact is limited.

So What? ToS interpretation is now operationally material. If your product routes core workflows through a single model vendor, “we’re compliant” is not enough, you need to be legibly compliant to the vendor’s evolving risk posture, and you need a migration path that can be executed on a calendar, not a crisis. The deeper shift is that model access is starting to look like a governed privilege tied to ownership structure and downstream use, not a commodity API you can assume will be there next quarter.

  • Add a “vendor confidence” checkpoint to M&A and partnership diligence, ownership changes can change your AI supply chain overnight.
